DARRS Inc.'s Extravagant Kid (Kiss the Kid), winner of last Saturday's G1 Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan, is scheduled to return home this week, according to trainer Brendan Walsh.

“He will quarantine in Chicago for 48 hours and then should be down [at Keeneland] Sunday or Monday,” Walsh confirmed Thursday morning.

An astute $75,000 claim by the current connections in January 2018, the 8-year-old gelding landed his first graded stakes score of his career in Dubai, as Walsh looked on flying from Miami to New Orleans.

“I was trying to watch it on my tablet, but the WiFi wasn't working,” Walsh said. “Then I looked and saw the flight had live TV, and I was able to watch the FOX Sports telecast. At the eighth pole, I thought he was going to get a placing and then I thought this guy is going to win the thing.”

Also trained by Walsh, Godolphin's Maxfield (Street Sense), winner of the 2019 GI Claiborne Breeders' Futurity, is back at Keeneland after arriving this week from Palm Meadows Training Center in Florida. Undefeated in a pair of starts in 2020, including the GIII Matt Winn S. at Churchill Downs last May, the dark bay took the GIII Mineshaft S. at Fair Grounds Feb. 13 before finishing third–beaten two lengths–in the Mar. 6 GI Santa Anita H.

Outlining a plan for the striking 4-year-old, Walsh said, “We will work him a couple times [at Keeneland] and then find something for him. The GII Alysheba S. [(at Churchill Downs Apr. 30] is a possibility.”
